Project Highlight: Crossgrain, LLC

Repost Notice: This article was originally posted on CADdetails’ blog, Design Ideas for the Built World. Our TI-55-2 [Tile Insert 5″ x 5″ drain] often takes a backseat to our linear drains, so we thought this project spotlight featuring Crossgrain LLC’s installation of the TI-55-2 should have a permanent spot on our blog, too. Enjoy!

Matt Weber of Crossgrain, LLC was the general contractor for this stunning master bathroom remodel located in Chesterfield, MO. The walk-in shower includes many carefully selected design details for both beauty and functionality. The shower floor features the LUXE Square Tile Insert 5” x 5” drain [TI-55-2], creating a continuous flooring surface for a clean, sleek look. Attention to details, such as the shower drain, is important when building a custom shower with such stunning tile work. A traditional round or square strainer drain interrupts the design and directs the eye to the unsightly drain.

The TI-55-2 allows the entire shower to flow nicely, highlighting the beautiful blue glass tiles with a pearl finish along the back wall. Other details to note include the custom shower niche by Alex Walters. The two small shelves in the niche are designed to perfectly fit a bar of soap or a razor. The triangle floating shelves also create functional spaces within the shower to place shower items while lending unique design details. Matt truly hit it out of the park on this remodel. Check out the finished product as well as some in process photos to see how much of an impact the LUXE 5” x 5” drain can truly make!
